You can do better. It's not hard, you just need to post everyday the first months, and then twice a week. I do it like that and it is working for my blogs.
I don't use software or anything like that. Just provide good content in a subject you know.

It's my affiliate marketing blog. I have some bloggers blog too. What is really good is that you can get the first page easily for a lot of keywords, and make some sales.
It's also easy to maintain. you don't need any html skills.
