I've never had allergies before, and i've probably had 3 different pillows in the last few years,as well as different laundry detergents. I haven't noticed a difference no matter what changes i make.

Another piece of advice I read was to try sleeping with the head of your bed elevated a few inches to 'drain' fluids from your face.
I heard that too...i bought one of those cushion pad things (forget the technical term) that has more padding at the top so your head is up higher. I also tried one of those wedges, where your head is up A LOT higher. Neither have made a difference.

For me I've had the best results when I cut out refined carbohydrates-- have you ever tried the Dr. Perricone 3-day diet? (I think they call it the 3 day nutritional facelift, sounds gimmicky, I know). But when I did that, all puffiness was gone. And of course, watch your salt intake.
I've never heard of this diet! Is there information online about it? I'll try it! Oh and as for salt,i dont even OWN any salt. I also try to avoid processed foods as much as i can. Most of what i eat is whole wheat bread, fruit, whole grain pasta and organic sauce, yogurt, oatmeal, that kinda stuff.
