Advertising revenue from a blog is absolutely passive income. When you set up that system, you've decoupled your time from your wages - i.e., your blog will still pay you even when you're not working on it. That's the definition of passive income.
There is no such thing as "passive income" where you never have to do any work at all and people just pay you large sums of money.
