A slightly different approach is to create a few flash cards with a single word or phrase. Keep a flashlight next to your bed and set the alarm for 3-4am.
When the alarm goes off, hold the flash cards upside down, so you can't consciously read them and flash the light on the card for a couple seconds to leave an impression on your non-conscious mind.
The effects last for at least a week or so after only a couple nights.
The simple act of deciding which word or phrase to put on the card is also a major factor.

I have "The Science of Getting Rich" from Wattles on pdf and I've listened to it two nights while sleeping so far. It sounds somewhat robotic, but I'll be asleep. I don't know if it will work, but my subconscious side will be entertained for a few hours!
If anyone else tries this, let me know what happens. I don't dare tell my friends! I'm scared of straitjackets!
