I think that in order to become indifferent to outcomes, you have to change your desires or expectations first. I think it's harder to hold on to your old expectations and after the fact try to change/suppress your emotions.

This is something I'm working on too! I think it takes daily practice to get those unrealistic expectations out of your mind.
