Heh, I've always had an attraction for being a a rebel in South America. Too bad they were fighting for a cause I couldn't agree with, or they were fighting in a way I couldn't agree with. I've even had dreams where I was leading groups of rebels in one way or another (mostly against humans, but once in a rare while against aliens ).

Where I am going with this is: what would you be generating if you were to save the downtrodden from oppression? In my experience, the most powerful purpose involves going toward something rather than trying to get away from something.

What would you and the world have that inspires you, if you were kicking the butt of oppressors? What would you be powerfully and boldly generating for yourself and for us? For instance, would it be Justice? Freedom? Power? What quality really lights you up, really inspires you?
It would be about Freedom, but it's also a lot about Respect for the individual. I feel human beings should be respected for who they are, and not be taken advantage of. Respecting people to let them live in peace. Surprisingly, at this very moment, the ideal of respect holds a higher attraction then freedom. I say surprisingly because I've never thought of respect in that fashion - it's always being about freedom for me. In a way, honoring someone's freedom is about respecting them, respecting their choices, and their free will to do as they think best.

I would love to see a world where everyone is respected by others, and everyone has total freedom to be exactly who they want to be.

HUGE EDIT: I actually once overthrew an oppressive system.....online. It was a small online gaming community that had been around for many years, and there was an official place to meet, get password to the games, etc. Even though I was a "mod" myself I got riled up at how there was no systematic way to dealing with people - other "mods" and the "administrator" would constantly abuse people, kick/ban people for no reason, intimidate people, etc. However, it was the only place where you could play that game - so if you wanted to play this game that you've played for many years, you had to put up with the abuse to do so. Others had tried to form their own servers, but nobody would switch.

I finally approached one of those guys with his own server and told him if he lets me set all the rules, and rule over the mods, I'd guarantee him I could get either everyone to switch there in 4 months time, or the administrator's server would change their policies to treat people with more respect. Sure enough with my marketing plan, with my enforcing behavior of mods to make sure they treated people with respect and followed a set plan, everyone pretty much joined our server and the administrator's server was pretty much shut down within 6 months due to lack of activity there. The administrator and all the mods under him were thus pretty much stripped of their power to abuse people.

I was very hard on mods, being very careful on choosing who they were, making sure they treated those without any mods powers with respect, especially when it came time to warn/kick/ban them for disregarding the rules. I would remove the mod-power of those who abused their powers and disrespected the non-mods. So, in the end the mods and those in power ended respecting the individuals to a great extent. I was quite proud of that. So, yeah, maybe it's about Respect
