Interesting timing - I started a thread yesterday which almost exactly mirrors what you are saying below. I have been through everything you mentioned below. I've only recently begun really thinking about this, so I unfortunately have no knowledge of the medications or preventions.
I don't know if you read my other thread, but do you experience the problem of not being able to focus on movies / tv shows?
