Hey everyone!
I'm excited to be a moderator for these new forums. It's great that Steve and Erin have found lots of people with forum experience to be mods as that should help this place get off on the right foot.
As to my experience, I own and administer the highly popular and well-trafficked
High Rankings Search Engine Optimization forum which is over 2 years old. I have a great team there who share my particular philosophy of SEO (i.e., making your site be the best it can be for your site users as well as the search engines) so it runs fairly smoothly even when I can't be there 24/7 like I often am!
I love forums and they generally become my home away from home. (Well my home at home since I mostly work at home.)
I am fairly well-known in the SEO world as I have been in the biz since the beginning (over 12 years). I've been lucky enough to have been able to turn my hobby into a very lucrative business while also being able to have stayed at home while my kids were growing up. It doesn't get any better than that!
So what's my interest in this place?
I'm a bit of a late bloomer in the world of spirituality and all that other fun stuff Steve and Erin talk about. Most of my life was spent not thinking on that level. I grew up without any religion or spirituality, and never gave either of them any thought. As I got older (I'm 45 now) I finally started to think about that stuff. One of my first introductions to spirituality was when my husband had Dr. Wayne Dyer's PBS show on TV many, many years ago. At first I thought my husband was weird for watching something like that, and I probably even was making fun of it! But then I started listening to what Dr. Dyer was saying, and I realized that what he was talking about was exactly the way I thought and acted just by using my own common sense. Years later when his Power of Intention book and talks came about, I watched him intently and again knew in my heart what he was talking about was true, because it had always worked for me without me ever having given it a label.
I purchased that book and read it over and over again and even bought a copy for a few friends of mine. I started to think of it as my "bible" even. I probably need to brush up on it again as it's been awhile since I read it and I find that I forget some of it if I don't read it over now and then.
Anyway, I found Steve's site per chance one night hmmm...maybe a year ago? Maybe not quite that long, I forget exactly. But I found it just browsing the del.icio.us site one night. I believe it was an old article of Steve's on time management or something like that. I've been enjoying his articles ever since!
I've also been very interested in the recent posts on subjective reality. I had read The Disappearance of the Universe, and although I decided I didn't like it because it felt too negative to me, it did make me think a lot about how life could simply be like a dream that we actually have complete control over. Which seems very similar to the subjective reality model Steve talks about.
I've also been loving Erin's blog, and even had an email reading done by her a few months ago. (She told me I was only one of 2 readings she had done at the time where I didn't really have any major problems that needed solving.)
At any rate, suffice it to say that I'm very interested in the topics covered here and am on my computer way more than I should be (like 18 hours a day) so even with everything else I do, I am looking forward to helping out.
I wasn't sure which forum would be best for me to help with, and told Steve that I'd pretty much help where ever necessary. I'm kind of sick of always discussing SEO, which I do all day long, so this place is a nice retreat. I've ended up in the Psychic & Paranormal forum, which is fine with me. It's not something I have all that much experience with, but I took an interest in tarot cards a few years ago, and my sister and I used to fool around with the Oujia Board when we were younger! My 18 year old daughter (senior in h.s.) is actually much more interested in the paranormal than I am, and if I get stuck with anything, I'll just ask her. She is an avid fan of all those WB shows like Charmed, Angel, etc.
I also have a 19 year old daughter who is in college, and a 13 year old son who attends the Advanced Math and Science Academy charter school that recently opened up near us.
That's the quick summary of me!
