For me the automatic writing is as it sounds, the poem ( or prose or whatever form it comes in) is already "imprinted" on your mind, all you do is write it down... it is a part of your conscience to the point that you can not forget it , so say you are given a writing today, this will stay imprinted on your mind for years and years, you can not forget it period..... i could never quite figure that out, until I finally realised the reason I can not forget these pieces of writing is because they are litterally one with me
these types of experiences have absolutely no conscience thought on your part in the sense that you make a choice to write about something ....
it is like the piece is already written it chose your body to come through and you are only the medium to write it down, you also may not even comprehend what the piece is about at the time, you may have to get help in understanding what it is about or what it means
at least this is how it works with me
