Hard to give you advice only knowing your location as "Chez Gonzo's Hideaway" (as registered here on the forum). I assume you are in the US. Are you? I don't know your situation either, but if you depend on a job, you MUST (MUST MUST MUST MUST) understand, speak, read and write Spanish well enough unless you want some below the minumum wage job.
It might be different, if you are a high level executive, specialist, expert, .... But you still need get a job. Right?
And I also assume that you have been in Valencia before, haven't you? Otherwise why would you move there.
You are talking about residence. That means you will a VISA that you need to apply .....
