I think that feminine energy is like intimacy, caring, security, (inward movement from source) and masculine enrgy is like freedom, expansion, or even separation (outward movement from source).

Of course these energies have to be balanced in order to blossom fully.
For instance, it is easy to see the damage of unbalanced male energy when we look at the violent world of people who wants to conquer everything.
