Saw this vehicle first several months ago in some web videos. The technology behind it is very impressive. The overall look of the vehicle will get a lot of attention as it has already. However when it comes to practicality, I doubt these will get mainstream appeal. I'm picturing a few inches of snow on the ground and it completely losing control. Is traction / stability control an option? What about frills. This car doesn't seem to have enough of them. Of course it'll appeal to hardcore environmental activists and airline pilots but outside I'm not so sure.
Personally I'm looking forward to the next wave of hybrid electric vehicles. The transition to lithium ion / polymer based batteries instead of nickle metal hydride along with more powerful electric motors should give a big boost to the hybrid market. |
