I feel like I'm having an epiphany this morning!

It may be that the love of money is the root of all evil. Or that the love of money for its own sake is the root of all evil. But does that necessarily mean that loving money is evil?

Isn't it like stating that Christianity is the cause of horrible atrocities, murders, witch-hunts, prejudice, and so on? That's a fact. But does that necessarily mean that Christianity is evil?

Now, about loving money for its own sake. Why is that bad? What if I just love money? What if I love having it around, looking at it, the way it smells, having big piles of it to play with and spend, etc.? Seeing big numbers in my checking account getting bigger every day, getting five-star hotel rooms, and five-star rock concert tickets.

If I love ice cream for its own sake, that's not a bad thing, is it?
