Hello,
Be careful with this site. It looks like a legit site when you first get into it, but use your discernment carefully.
When I came upon questions about homosexuality on the site, I was a little disturbed to find that this Jesus believes that homosexuality is unnatural and not created by God. Granted, people have the right to believe what they want, but I expected something a little more compassionate and loving from a true Jesus. There is a reason homosexuality was declared to not be a disease by the American Psychological Association.
Take a look at these two links:
Real Jesus, is your view on homosexuality wrong? Real Jesus, The spiritual cause of homosexuality
Think about your own beliefs on this issue, and come to your own conclusion.
Note that I couldn't find these pages through the main site anymore. I had to do a Google search. I imagine they raised a lot of controversy, especially with the spiritual types that would read this site, so maybe the links were removed. Please let me know if I am mistaken and you can get to those pages from the main site.
Another page that I found a little funny was this one:
Real Jesus, Be here below, all that you are above
In this page he says that the golden rule was for the past two millennia, but that the new golden rule for the next two millennia is: "Be here below, all that you are above". However, he takes over 3000 words to say this. I think this statement is a good guideline. At the same time, the golden rule is about simple kindness, and I don't think kindness ever goes out of date.
Notice that on most answers he gives, he is very verbose and wordy, often going on for several pages on a simple point. When you look back on what was actually said, there was not too much of real substance. He doesn't tend to just give a straight to the point answer. This is how politicians talk when you watch them on Meet the Press.
I have found that the truth is usually pretty simple, and does not need a lot of verbiage.
Take a look at this Bible passage (Matthew 22:34-40):
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And [Jesus] said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it: 'You shall love you neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
I do not consider myself a Christian, but I think this is one of the highest and simplest teachings I have seen. How many people are doing this today? You can spend your whole life working on this one teaching.
I would love to hear people's thoughts. Peace.
