Politics aside, I have lost a lot of faith in the college system. Right now, I am enjoying school less than I did when I was a high school senior. Why? Because I don't give a damn. I wanted to graduate high school so I would be more independent and disciplined. When it came to entering college, I can't say my motives were quite so noble. It's really a way to escape real life, not experience it. I doubt that the job my degree gets me will be any different.
I very well might go back, but it will be a cheap school, and I will commute. College should never have become the default choice for high school graduates.
