The universe is always vibrating, always flowing into new realities. We attempt to attract to us our desired reality, but it doesn't always come, since our desires are not always in tune with the universe, or in tune with other people's realities. That doesn't mean the LoA doesn't work. It's the Law of Attraction, after all. Not the Law of 100% Fullfilment.
I have no doubt that FloridaGal's effort at reuniting with her grandmother brought her closer to her goal, even if it didn't work. She quite obviously felt much closer and experienced many positive states before her grandmother died. Something positive came out of it, right?

What I don't understand is why you can't thank your grandmother now. Just because she's not physically present doesn't mean you can't offer up that emotion and blessing. Sure, you can't give her a present, but maybe it's time to be thankful for what she did for you, and wish her well on her current journey into other dimensions. Thank her, and let her go. That's a surprisingly powerful idea, offering thanks and moving on. Try it.
