Well, that thing of Wealth=Sucess is very stick in the American Culture. It's not seen that way so much out of there. You sometimes qualifily people as "losers" or "winners"... we hardly do that. We have other concept of what's winning and what's losing.
Obviously I'm generalizing but it is an obvious USA thing.
