I realize he said that, but to me, the implied message is a bit different, especially considering all the pro-vegan articles he has on his site, and a few of the links I've clicked on that demonstrated that a vegan diet was best. Here's such a link from his blog.

It seems to me, that what you did to yourself is to tailor your personal diet around your health problems and now you call this a best diet for you. But it may be that you just *fixated* your current health condition with medications and high-protein diet.

While with the raw food, I suppose, your body would start cleaning, so what seems to you as "this diet is not suitable for me" was maybe just a detox of your body, which will make you feel uncomfortable, because that would actually *change* your health condition. But if you are satisfied with your state as it is now, you of course don't have a reason to change it.
Uh, no. That's not what happened at all. Assuming makes an *** out of U and me, as the saying goes. I did go through a detox on that diet, but that is not what I am talking about. I also went through a detox on the diet I am on now; what does that say about your theory? I will PM you about what happened to me, as I am uncomfortable about sharing what happened on a public forum. It's quite personal.

My experience
My father is also a fan of raw food diet (he is about "90% raw"), and he also prefers the "lots of fruit" alternative. I can testify that his health condition improved a lot - his diabetes and overweight disappeared after a few years and now he is pills-free and more energetic.

But on the downside, he became a bit fanatical about persuading others to go to raw diet, which produced the opposite effect and is a bit annoying sometimes. ;-) But anyway, I am happy that raw food diet helped him.
Well, that's your dad's experience -- not yours. You're a different person than your dad, so I find it a bit dubious that you claim your father's experience as your own. If anything, you're just stating your bias because your dad did it and had some good experience with it. That doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to you if you do it.
