I didn't think I was going to need a record of my 30 day trial of water fasting, but as today has been peculiar thus far, I felt I needed to record it somehow. What better place than this receptive community? I am always interested in doing things that get measurable results in small periods of time, and Fasting seems to me to be a great way to detoxify my body in a short period. I have also been looking for a way to shift my thinking about the foods I put into my body...many accounts of 30 days + of water fasting have told me that the faster experiences a profound change in how they look at food, portions and eating in general.


My fasting regimen consists of simply drinking distilled water, as well as at least one daily enema, though some recommend two, I will be adjusting as I go if I feel there have been benefits.

Day one consisted of cleansing myself with an enema and drinking distilled water (surprise). Of course this will be a record of purely physical, emotional and spiritual results...not much regimen change. Day one was simple. In fact, I didn't have much of an appetite anyway. I also slept a good portion of the day, I don't normally do that. I am not sure if it was related.

Yesterday was strange, I had a headache most of the day and my tongue felt filmy and tasted gross...even though I am easily drinking 1.5-2 gallons of water a day which normally combats bad breath I may encounter. I noticed that I talked about food a lot to friends/family...not many hunger pangs though.

Today is where it has got interesting...I have to get up at 5am on Thursdays, and today hunger pangs shot me out of bed on the first ring of the alarm. You would think that not eating would cause you to be tired, and while my body feels heavy, I feel perfectly alert. It feels like it will be a long but rewarding day. I will update later as Days 3-11 are supposed to be the killers.
