Maybe the quest you are on is really an "internal" quest but you are mistaking this wanderlust for external wanderlust.
My husband is afraid to delve deeply into his own inner world. He's a wonderful man, husband and friend but it's obvious that he will seek to distract himself endlessly with new fun if it keeps him from having to be still long enough where he might accidentally get introspective. I have no idea what demons are in there but this problem doesn't affect him or us, as far as being a couple or being a productive human.
He claims to hate being "bored" too but it's really that he hates to be quiet and still.
