The way I did it is in one sitting I wrote down all the wants that occurred to me, which turned out to be around 70% of the total. Then for a week afterwards I carried a small notebook around with me at all times. Whenever the thought "I want ..." came into my head, I whipped out the noteback and wrote it down.
