Actually there is a spoon............but the spoon is you.

The Matrix contains lots of nice references to consciousness and explanation of self without having to wade through all the guru books and ancient mystic verse.
In this life we seemingly can't bend spoons, but we can bend and shape much of reality to our will.
You can see it everyday, but you're just not noticing it.
There are rules (self imposed) you can bend them and even break them, but there are rules.
