It may have something to do with your personality or how you respond to others. I suggest the following:
A) Be strong and let the people know that you will not tolerate their jokes
B) Joke around back at them OR with them (in an unaggressive way)
Do not avoid the jokes, just be willing to take a stand for yourself so that the jokes stop.
