My day (at least 5 days a week) is filled up already leaving very little time to "break out of my comfort zone". I get up, go to work for 8+ hours, come home, eat dinner, relax for approx. 1 hour (TV or meditate), go to the gym for 1 hour and then get ready for bed. When do people find the time to try other activities?

If I had your schedule, I would replace some of that after-work time with my hobbies. For example, I chose dancing because I wanted to be good at it and to look sexy. I go to dance classes or to parties instead of staying at home after work. Sometimes I go to bed very late and sleep too little, so that gives me some extra time. I also eat out quite often. Luckily, my job seldom takes more than 8 hours a day.
Maybe you could shuffle your schedule around to make time. For example, move gym time to the morning before work or to your lunch hour. Exercise at your desk while doing your job.
