You mean like... pencils? What would we ever do without pencils? Or paper. Can you imagine if we hadn't invented paper? I guess you could still draw "666" in the dirt, but that's not as mystically powerful. Unless you're a Crowley disciple. How about the printing press? Is Gutenberg the Devil, too? What about the plow? The Puritans didn't like new kinds of plows, because they were innovative and novel, which was a crime. And then there's the rifle. I mean, dear God, what a horrible thing, that you can actually shoot straight-ish, rather than within a sixty-degree arc of where you're aiming. How would America ever have become top-dog without the rifle?
