The trick is to focus upon the emotions, the feelings and thoughts, i.e. the inner state that you might experience if you get what you want. Make it a bigger priority than the actual physical thing that you desire.
Get used to the feeling state of already having what you want and condition yourself not to bind / chain / link it to the physical stuff.
You can generate any emotion at will, but not materialise physical matter out of thin air (maybe not yet).
Be grateful for what you already have then gently lead it to what you want.
For e.g. "I am deeply thankful for the roof over my head and the food on my table, and I would be deeply thankful and joyful if the roof over my head belongs to a beautiful mansion as well" |
