The way I see it, the LoA works whether you believe in it or not. In your case you don't believe you can attract the stuff you want, and hence that becomes your reality.

I'm by no means an expert, in fact I'm a relative newcomer to all of this myself, but so far these are the things that have really helped me:

1) Since belief isn't necessary for the LoA to work, concentrate instead on watching your thoughts and feelings. Do your best to ignore the negative thoughts and self-limiting beliefs and focus on those that make you feel good.

2) Start meditating for say 15 minutes a day. This is one of those things that you really have to experience to realise just how powerful it is. I find that even a short period of meditation puts me in a great frame of mind where I feel much more open to all this 'spiritual stuff'.

3) Create a vision board - grab a bunch of magazines, cut out pictures that represent all the things you want to attract into your life, pin them to a board, and spend some time each day focusing on it. (I made a digital version which I use as my computer's desktop wallpaper.) Imagine you have already attracted them and do your best to experience the positive FEELINGS that they bring about. I like to combine this with my daily meditation. Again, this process is said to accelerate the LoA process, but even if you don't believe in it, it still puts you in a fantastic frame of mind.

4) Try to surround yourself with people who encourage you and who have similar beliefs to you. For me, in my 'real life', I don't know many people who are into personal development or would give the LoA any serious consideration, which is why I like to hang around on this forum and chat with like-minded people. This brings to mind something I heard a long time ago - that you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So make sure you choose those people wisely!

Hope that helps, I'm sure other people will have their own suggestions to add.

Pete
