It's a bit hard for me as an European to understand the cultural implications of both political activity and of not telling your friend about a girl that you have an relationship with.

i am not supporting them in unethical political practices, like showing power, controlling others, making troubles.
i just wanna study & get a certificate.
If you feel that the your friends moral exceptations are so different from you, why do you want to be friends with them in the first place?

People who gather themselves around a more extreme political idea, center there life on that idea.
Causing trouble to a few people is probably one of the main parts of political activitismn anywhere.

In general I think that you and them have evoled a different idea of how to deal with the world.
That doesn't make it anyones "fault", but it ends the friendship.
Framing it as a fight were they betrayed you, won't help yourself. On the other hand it might create tension between yourself and them in the future.

Make the decision to have different values then them and move on.
