No. In my book, loving someone is not the same as being in love with someone. The former is an action, a choice being made and a process followed through. The latter is a condition, a state of being; ironically, to me, it sounds sterile.

I'm not sure on what basis you're suggesting that "falling in love" is somehow a good thing, so I have to question the implication that it's at all better.
