If we make it to the next 5 billion years, i'm sure we will already be able to overcome the sun problem. We will probably already be millions of light years away, in another fresh young solar system with a fresh young planet just like earth is now.

We like to think that we are at the technological top of the civilization, but we are really just in a very very primitive pre history, comparing to our future civilization.
