I too think it may be a reflection of a belief system, or the body aligning with the belief system. I base this on my own experiences of myself (thoughts/ words/ internal images used, practitioners working on me) and with my doing energy work on other people.

One person that came to me for energy work, use to yawn in some of the sessions. She then told me “yawning is a sign of emotional release”. I think that was the body following the response of the belief.

When I have done energy work on people, there have been some people have some emotional release in a sessions, but mostly if something did come up, was some pain which ended up clearing or improving by the end of the session.

Another person I was doing a lot of regular work with, is a friend of mine. We use to have lunch after the energy work, and one time I remember somehow the topic of healing crisis came up in the conversation. I don’t remember what she said exactly, but it was something along the lines of stating that healing crisis do occur or must occur. Something like that. If you were a user of affirmations, and wanted to create that experience, then what she said, is what would have helped embed that belief into the mind. The next day she telephoned to tell me she was in a really bad way, hips felt as if out of alignment (who knows if they were or not), stomach upset, and something else, which I don’t recall. At the time, there did not appear to be any reason for it. It was only after i got of the phone with her that i recalled what she stated while we were having lunch, about healing crisis. Out of the many, many sessions on her, that was the only time it happened. Apart from this friend, there are no other people I have worked on, where healing reactions occurred after the session
