I use Reiki to clear my crystals, but I'm rather new at both crystal work AND Reiki, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it thoroughly enough or not!
Prior to Reiki, I prefered clearing crystals with sage, because it was fairly fast and easy. Just burn some sage and waft the smoke around the crystals with the intent to clear them. My second choice would be putting the crystals out in moonlight -- it's like the sunlight method, but I think sunlight can fade the color of some stones, where moonlight won't. I'm sure you're already aware that some crystals will dissolve in water, so make sure that's a dry salt method you're thinking about!
