I don't know if there are many who don't bookmark their own. I've got the same thoughts though, how much good does it do you? If everyone just bookmarks their own it starts to lay a little flat. If you'll notice a lot of the sites that engage in gang promotion only end up promoting each other-to each other. It's great for the start but in the long run I'm not so sure it helps them much as they're running in a big loop.
So definitely bookmark some but make plans for something else further along.
