I've never used The Journal, so I don't know from experience, but looking at the features and screenshots, it looks like BasKet is still quite a bit different from that. In BasKet, you create any number of baskets (there are five different types, but the jist is that each basket is a list of "things") and then you add "things" to them. I can imagine that this would work perfectly for a GTD system, but I don't use it that way because I need to be able to access my tasks remotely (via Tracks). You
could write journals into BasKet I suppose, but it doesn't have nearly the formatting options that The Journal appears to have. It is free, though.
Edit: It appears I need to upgrade my version of BasKet. The new features still don't really resemble those of The Journal, but they make it so much cooler.
