I was skeptical about this when it was discussed a couple of years ago and I'm still wary about it being used as some education panacea in place of qualified teachers.
Thankfully they got rid of the daft wind-up mechanism that needed about 10mins winding for half an hours use. The mesh WiFi networking is great. Integrated camera, solid state drive, stylus input area, game controls... some of the features are better than most current laptops. The most surprising feature is the 1200X900 resolution 7.5" screen, I hope they've got good eyesight (or large fonts). Shame it's not actually $100, yet. Great for hardware hacking. And a nice buy one give one sale method. |
