I'm trying to remember how I found out about him, and I can't. I believe that I would have followed him closer if I knew about him sooner, but I can't know that for sure.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've watched many shows and presentations by people who weren't dying: I'd like to think that I would have watched his even if it wasn't his "last lecture".
