 Pingback spam
It sounds like you're describing pingback spam. Personally, if I get a pingback on my blog from one of these "splogs", I delete it and hope that their link to me still remains. I can't imagine it having a negative affect on your own Google rankings (one back link = one vote, perhaps devalued on a "splog"), so your drop in the search results is probably for some other reaon. |
