You're lucky, learningtogrow! Lots of people don't remember their dreams at all.

How about keeping a dream journal? I find that if I make a commitment to writing my dreams down as soon as I wake up, it's easier to let go of an upsetting emotional charge and to more clearly see the connections, puns, and insights my dreams are giving me.

Offload the dream and the emotional charge, and then come back to it later in the day and see what you see that benefits you (or amuses you).
