I've been looking up any words that I guess wrong -- especially as the definitions aren't always exact, which I think increases the challenge. Like in the example you gave, sulking way of behaviour, whereas a pout is one physical action that's typical in sulking behaviour. Actually, I look up anything I guess correctly (rather than choose right because I *know* it's right), so that I can see what the word actually means. I often find the word origins to be interesting as well.
Just for the record though, I'm not cheating.

Not as much fun that way. I'm only looking up the words AFTER guessing.
(As to where I'm looking things up, I've got a nifty little dictionary widget, but I expect a physical dictionary or dictionary.com would work perfectly well.)
