Ooh, that phrase "I am" is very powerful... Use with care
"I am unhappy" is such a definite pronouncement on how you see your reality and it doesn't leave any room for change or improvement in the situation. That said, it's very difficult to go from "I am unhappy" to "I am happy" in one big leap, so try adding process-type statements after your "I am"s. For example: I am finding things to be grateful for every day, I am starting to become happier each day, I am feeling a bit better about my life every day etc.
Changing your words really can start to change your reality.
