The first thing that ran through my head when I read your story was, How do you think marriage would be with a man who is willing to have his most important life choices made for him by his parents? You can be pretty sure that if you were to somehow break through the barrier of their disapproval, more situations would come up soon enough in which your decisions as a couple would be not only influenced by his parents, but actually made by them! Would you really want a husband who was this, well, weak?
