In my experience, drinking coffee at night and still being able to sleep very much depends on your individual physiology. My mom can drink regular coffee any time of the day or night and be able to sleep fine. I can't. I make it a rule to avoid caffeine after lunch. If I have regular coffee after dinner, I'll be up 'till 3 AM.
