I recently read "
Blog Profits Blueprint" (the website is blocked on this forum for some reason) and one thing that the author stressed is that while blogging is an excellent way to earn a full time income, it's still self-employment and it requires daily interaction. I'm not sure how similar your website is to a blog, but you did mention article writing. In order to create a system that runs on autopilot, it has to offer value repeatedly without input from you. There are only a couple of ways I see this working for websites:
- Having a huge amount of expert information on a subject that can be referenced over and over.
- Relying on user generated content.
The former takes
a lot of time, both for creating so many articles and building up your credibility. Web 2.0 sites rely on the latter; user generated content is the perfect scenario: users get to join a growing community and the developers don't really have to do anything except build it.
So my suggestion is that, if at all possible, you find some way to incorporate user generated content and make it so this system is completely hands off. A forum is a good start. You could also have something like user written articles, user submitted success stories, etc.
