Hey xnez!
A few practical things that really worked for me:
- You really can't go wrong with (stone washed) black or dark blue jeans
- White socks are evil, black or gray socks go with anything
- When you're buying shirts, look for the ones that have a tight fit around the chest and pay special attention to how the collar suits you. I have a fairly long neck, so high collars work best for me. If you have a short neck, collarless shirts may work better for you...
- Find out which colors suit you. Black and white look good on almost anyone. Colors that match your eyes or hair are also safe bets. If you feel like standing out, get some bright colors.
- Contrast works - i.e. white shirt, dark jacket
- Color pairing works - i.e. white shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers
- Accessorize - belt, watch, necklace, etc.
But, most of all, wear stuff that feels comfortable to your skin!
Good luck!
Jim.
