Purpose with a God-view
It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders. You are taking steps to add positive components into your life. You are attracted to self-improvement modules, which can be very helpful especially where it comes to retraining our thinking. What iyou have expressed is missing is direction and life purpose.
Can I give you some input from the Christian standpoint? The thing is that even though all the things you are doing are good and self-help is helpful sometimes we go on forever not knowing our life purpose with out a God-view. Christians believe that God is the creator of everything. That gives existence direct meaning. Not only has he created you and me with a specific life path, he cares. When it seems no one in the world cares, God cares. The path he lays out for us is not always obvious or easy. It doesn't always lead to happiness or success because he is more interested in our character than our success. Happiness is not the pursuit, peace, love and joy is.
So where does that leave you? If you believe in Jesus - the access to God, you can hear from God about your life direction. If you don't believe in Jesus you have no abiding access to God which means you live an undirected life. If you don't consult God about your purpose, you try this and that and bear the consequences of your choices. If you have the Holy Spirit (Jesus) directing you, all life choices are his best for you. Of course your part is to listen to the still small voice and to look for confirmation of your path. Another part is to complete the segment of the path we are on. It sounds to me like you have changed paths midpath a few times. I would urge you to finish what you start, do what you say you will do (integrity).
I noticed you talked about feelings in your post. Feelings can give us some guidance but should never be the trusting source of our decisions because feelings change instant upon instant. When you ask for God's guidance he can put resources and people in your path and you can go to some advisors you trust to consult. His word the Holy Bible also can speak to you. Read Proverbs for a start, then Colossians or some other great chapter.
I am a Life Purpose Coach. Basically I can tell you our ultimate purpose is to bring God glory. How? By three things. DO - Do well what matters in front of you. That means from cleaning your apartment, to managing your finances well, to finishing your education. That also includes all your roles - be a good son, friend, etc. think of what that means for you.
The next thing is BE - be the child of God he wants you to be (find that out from the Bible). Be holy, know your morals and values and live them.
Then DO - the greater thing that affects the world. Writing that great screenplay, becoming a life coach yourself, painting a mural, helping the poor. What you should know is that the great thing you do may be within your job, or may be after hours.
Do know, that you can never minimize the career you end up in. When God created the world, he assigned us to manage it. TWe are all doing that in our jobs - our jobs have meaning.
Well that is enough for now. I hope something in here speaks to you.
