Peleke4, actually repeating the reminder phrase is necesary to get rid of the negative feelings

I don't fully agree with this - it certainly helps a lot in most cases, but I've sometimes used EFT by using the reminder phrase once at the beginning, and not at all thereafter. YMMV, though - always see what works best for you.

But I should point out that I threw in EFT on top of NLP visualization techniques and deep breathing that I was already utilizing to cope with work stress. NLP and breathing did help to some degree; after throwing EFT into the equation, it seemed that all three meshed well together for effective results.

That's fantastic

One of the things I love about EFT is that it's almost infinitely flexible - it works with just about any other technique you can think of to try, and you can vary so many things about it (leave out points, add different points (I sometimes add the heart and the head), include/leave out the 9 Gamut, tap a different sequence, tap a different rhythm, don't tap at all but just hold your points while you breathe, rub your points, use different words, add eye rolls, etc).
One other thing I do sometimes that's effective is to switch reminder phrases as different issues and feelings come up, and just keep tapping, no matter how many rounds it takes - it's pretty intense, but it clears a lot of stuff out very fast.
