Yes I have that connection with chiildren and babies too.

They look at me and then they're smiling, even if they have been crying.

I've always thought I had a connection with children on a deeper level. For me I think it has to do with being an only child, don't ask my why, but it's got somthing to do with that.

I remember when I was in primary school, when I was in grade 6 I would tell stories at lunchtime to the grade preps (the youngest year level at primary school). They would love it and would always be waiting for me at luchtime to tell more. I had quite a following - te he! I always felt back then that I was the modern day beatrix potter
