Personally I find the less resistance I have to something (the more I belive it's possible) the quicker my intentions manifest. So if I've intentions I feel I need to work on the more I write out affirmations and think of them the quicker I find I get to the base level of what I want.
I'd say that most peoel here would recommend that you intend as often as possible. As long as you're putting emotion into them, and your affirmation/visualisation/meditation isn't a chore why shouldn't you do it often?
