Even though i don't think this will be a problem (by the time we figure to live indefinitely, we will have developed enough technology to support much, much more humans on Earh), if i had to choose between generating a new being and consequently having to be sacrificed (considering that in the last case there could be severe government restrictions to having childs) and being allowed to live indefinitely without being allowed to generate a new being, i would choose the second option.
I mean, our species as much all the other species reproduce so they can survire, but if we manage to live indefinitely there will be no more need to reproduce. Of course, our human instinct would still be there, and that could be a problem, but i believe that with enough cultural changes, we would eventually beat it.
