massive action is simple. Sometimes, in fact most frequently, it is not called for. In certain situations, however, there are no other options. Little bit less than a decade ago, I was living on the street with a few habits to support. Now I've got two habits to support (wife and kid) and am a senior systems engineer at an international geophysical company.
How was that accomplished? Certainly not by taking one step at a time. Massive action was called for; either poop (had a bottle of Macallen scotch and about 500 percocets for that option) or get of the can.
I chose the latter, and hit it hard. Still am. But that first few months required massive action on my part, and hardcore belief in myself that I was better than what I had gotten myself into.
To me, at least, it's a fairly simple equation. But then many people haven't had to live that life, and haven't been faced with that choice.
Then again, many have been faced, and have chosen what's behind door number 1.
